Two men, often described as looters, enter an abandoned Victorian home (at one point renovated into an apartment) at 5635 Clemens Avenue in the City's West End Cabanne neighborhood. Doe was found in a basement room of the building.
One of the men flickered a light (possibly a cigarette lighter), and the illumination highlighted the headless body of the child Jane Doe. They thought she was a mannequin at first but soon got the police.

LOST LOVED ONE:
St. Louis Little Jane Doe 1983 - the victim was found in the basement of an abandoned building in St. Louis, Missouri. The victim had been in the basement for approximately four days and was decapitated. The victim had two coats of red and purple fingernail polish on her hands and was wearing a V-neck long-sleeve yellow sweater.
